Neur is a web application that answers one question for aspiring business owners: **is this business, in this place, a good idea right now?**

You describe the business you want to open, the city or area you have in mind, your budget and your background. Neur pulls public market data for that place, maps the existing competition, scores the opportunity from 0 to 100 and gives you a report you can read on screen or download as a PDF.

- **Local demographics** for the area: population, median household income, median age, unemployment, median rent and education levels.
- **Employment trends** for your industry, at county level where available.
- An **interactive market map** of nearby competitors with their ratings and review counts.
- **Comparable cities** where similar businesses are thriving.
- **Startup cost and financial benchmarks** for your industry, with an interactive operating-model picker (for example, mobile cart versus storefront).
- A **step-by-step action plan** and a launch checklist you can tick off in your dashboard.
- A **PDF report** of all of the above.

## What it is not

Neur is not a guarantee, a business plan writer or a replacement for talking to landlords, lenders and customers. It is the research step that used to require paying a consultant, packaged so anyone willing to do the work can run it in minutes.
