Is my city already full of these?

Pick a business type and a city. Neur compares how many of them your county has per 100,000 people with the rest of your state and the country, from the Census Bureau’s County Business Patterns. Free, instant, no sign-up.

How to read it

Fewer per person than the state is a sign of room, more is a sign of a crowd. Neither decides anything on its own: a county can be crowded on average and have a neighborhood with nothing, and a thin county can be thin because nobody there wants one. That is what the paid report checks.
