What does Neur actually do?
You tell Neur what business you want to open, where, with what budget and background. It pulls public US market data for that place, maps the competition, scores the opportunity from 0 to 100 and gives you an interactive report and a PDF.
Is there a free version?
No. The sample report is the free preview: a complete Quick Report for a coffee shop in San Antonio, Texas, run in September 2026, so you can see exactly what you would get before paying.
How much does it cost?
$59.99 for one report or $149.99 for three. Reports you have not used yet never expire. There is no subscription.
How long does it take?
The questionnaire takes about five minutes. The report generates in minutes and stays in your dashboard. You get the interactive report plus two PDFs: a three-page Quick Report and the full Lender Report.
What data is the report based on?
US Census Bureau American Community Survey estimates for demographics, Bureau of Labor Statistics QCEW and CES data for employment trends, and Google Places listings for competitors. Every source is listed on the Data sources page.
How accurate is the Neur Score?
The Neur Score™ is Neur's own model, built from public data and Neur's industry benchmarks. It is an estimate, not a prediction. It is most useful for comparing options and spotting problems early. A high score does not guarantee success; a low score points at specific pillars to fix or reconsider.
What do the score labels mean?
80–100 Strong Opportunity, 65–79 Promising, 50–64 Buildable with adjustments, 35–49 Rethink the plan, under 35 Not the right time. Every report lists the changes that would raise the score and by how many points.
Does it work outside the United States?
No. Neur covers the United States only, all 50 states.
What industries are covered?
108 modeled industries across 20 categories, from food and beverage to manufacturing.
What if my idea is not one of the 108?
Type it in anyway. Neur matches unusual concepts to the closest modeled business with AI assistance (an axe-throwing bar borrows bar and entertainment economics, for example), runs the same market, competition and location analysis for your city, and labels the financial estimate as modeled from the closest business type so you know which numbers to treat as directional.
Can I run the same idea in several cities?
Yes. Each report covers one business in one city. The three-report pack is designed for comparing cities or ideas side by side.
Can I use the report for a loan application?
Yes. The Lender Report is built for it: a lender snapshot (startup capital, financing gap, expected revenue, break-even), an applicant page from your own answers with a readiness check, and the data behind every figure. It serves as the market-research section of a bank or SBA loan application.
Can a partner, investor or bank read my report?
Yes. Both PDFs are yours to share; they are named with the business and city so they are easy to forward. The interactive version in your dashboard requires your sign-in, so send the PDF rather than a link.
What is the refund policy?
Unused reports are refundable within 7 days of purchase. Generated reports are not refundable, except when a report fails to generate, in which case the report returns to your account automatically. Requests go through the refund form in your dashboard and are decided within two business days.
Do I need an account before paying?
No. You can pay first; your account is created from the email used at checkout and you sign in with a magic link.
Does Neur store my business idea?
Your questionnaire answers and reports are stored in your account so you can return to them. See the Privacy Policy.
